Man oh man, what a rough weekend. I had to travel up to Santa Rosa CA for a work project this past weekend.

After a not to successful event Sat :( I went to my hotel and crashed.

Sunday I had to get up at 5:00am to catch my flight back to LA. Santa Rosa is just a small airport, and the plane was one of those smaller two row planes. Well, the "check engine" light was on I guess, and they couldn't get it to shut off. Flight canceled...

Because it's a small airport, they didn't have any flights till the next day. So, I hustled out the door to catch the bus to San Fran. Once there it was just a HUGE deal to get the airline to find me a ticket to LA. Finally They (Alaska) found me a flight on Southwest. Great news, I'm only a few hours behind... or am I?

As my luck would have it, the flight was delayed three times, so I didn't get home till after 5:00pm. It took over 12 hours to get home. I could have driven in 8.

After all this it may sound like I'm just complaining, but I just wanted to give a shout out and be thankful to the Alaska, and Southwest Airlines staff at the stations. While the Airline itself left something to be desired, the staff at SFO were super helpful and friendly, and made it just a little easier.

Glad to be home safe and sound.

If you guys have any stories like this, every day staff standing up and making your issues a little bit easier, share it in a blog post of your own, or jump in the forum and let me know.
